⋅ For X1/P1 owners, a switching adapter is needed to power the drying function. Since filament drying lasts long, you rarely need multiple adapters running simultaneously. The optional adapter helps lower the price.
⋅ For H2D owners, your H2D can power anyone of the AMS 2 Pro(s) connected for drying, so if you’re not planning to run multiple AMS 2 Pro for drying simultaneously, you won’t be needing an adapter.

To remove snapped filament from the first-gen AMS, you need to remove all spools and unscrew the shell, which takes 3-5 minutes. In comparison, the AMS 2 Pro provides easy, tool-free access to the filament tubes from the top. - Ceramic Inlet

Compatibility
ALL SERIES
A1 Series
- To connect AMS 2 Pro unit(s) to A1 series printer, an A1 series AMS Hub is required.
A1 series printer can connect up to 4 AMS units(including AMS HT, AMS, AMS 2 Pro).
Note: AMS lite cannot be used in combination with other AMS units.
For drying function:
One Switching Adapter is required for each AMS 2 Pro unit.
X1/P1 Series
- To connect a single AMS 2 Pro unit to X1/P1 series printer, a Filament Buffer, a PTFE Tube Coupler, and a 4-pin Cable are required.
- To connect 2 or more AMS 2 Pro units, an AMS Hub, a PTFE Tube Coupler, and a 4-pin Cable are required.
X1/P1 series printer can connect up to 4 AMS units(including AMS HT, AMS, AMS 2 Pro).
For drying function:
One Switching Adapter is required for each AMS 2 Pro unit.
P2S
- To connect one or two AMS 2 Pro unit(s) to P2S, a P2S Filament Buffer is required.
- To connect 3 or more AMS 2 Pro units, a P2S Filament Buffer and a 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter(s) are required.
P2S printer can connect up to 4 AMS units (including AMS, AMS 2 Pro) and 4 AMS HT units.
For drying function:
P2S printer can power one AMS 2 Pro unit for drying without the switching adapter.
To dry filaments in multiple units simultaneously, each additional AMS 2 Pro unit requires its own Switching Adapter.
H2S
- To connect a single AMS 2 Pro unit, no extra accessory is required.
- To connect 2 or more AMS 2 Pro units to H2S, a 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter(s) are required.
H2 series printer can connect up to 4 AMS units(including AMS, AMS 2 Pro) and 8 AMS HT units.
For drying function:
H2S printer can power one AMS 2 Pro unit for drying without the switching adapter.
To dry filaments in multiple units simultaneously, each additional AMS 2 Pro unit requires its own Switching Adapter.
H2D/H2C
- To connect one or two AMS 2 Pro unit(s), no extra accessory is required.
- To connect 3 or more AMS 2 Pro units to H2D/H2C, 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter II are required.
H2 series printer can connect up to 4 AMS units(including AMS, AMS 2 Pro) and 8 AMS HT units.
For drying function:
H2 series printer can power one AMS 2 Pro unit for drying without the switching adapter.
To dry filaments in multiple units simultaneously, each additional AMS 2 Pro unit requires its own Switching Adapter.
