Universal Compatibility

The Bambu Engineering Plate serves as a one-stop build surface for a wide variety of filament types used on Bambu Lab printers, including PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, PC and other engineering materials. Applied with a light adhesive layer, it helps maintain reliable print adhesion across materials that vary significantly in their bed-temperature and surface requirements.

Enhanced Surface Coating

The plate features a specially formulated smooth coating designed for temperature, scratch, and corrosion resistance. This upgraded finish not only tolerates the high heat needed for advanced filaments but also withstands frequent cleaning and model removal without weakening performance.

Print Quality & Aesthetics

Thanks to its refined surface texture, models printed on the Engineering Plate tend to have a clean, uniform underside and a more polished overall look. This makes it ideal for users who want consistent results when printing functional parts or visually demanding projects.

Magnetic Attachment & Handling

Built on a spring-steel plate with magnetic backing, the Engineering Plate can be installed and removed quickly from compatible Bambu Lab printer heatbeds. Its flexibility also helps with easier part removal once prints are completed.

Recommended Usage

To achieve reliable adhesion and performance, a thin layer of glue stick or liquid adhesive is typically applied before printing. This is especially important for materials with higher print-bed temperature requirements or slick surfaces.

Technical Specifications

Material: Manganese steel plate with polyester powder coating
Surface Temperature Resistance: Up to 120 °C
Coating: Smooth finish optimized for durability and adhesion when used with glue

Considerations

  1. Apply glue to the Engineering Plate before printing with any filament. Solid glue can make model removal easier but may reduce first-layer quality due to uneven application, while liquid glue offers better adhesion consistency but can make removal more difficult. Choose based on your material and printing conditions.
  2. Use a scraper carefully when removing prints. If a model is difficult to remove, apply alcohol between the model and the plate to reduce adhesion and prevent damage or injury.
  3. Higher heatbed temperatures increase adhesion. Adjust bed temperature as needed to achieve the desired balance between adhesion and ease of removal.
  4. For X1C, P1 Series, and A1 printers, clean the nozzle tip thoroughly in the wiping area before auto-leveling. Wear in the wiping area over time is normal and does not affect print quality.
  5. Keep the plate clean from dust and grease by washing it regularly with warm water and mild dish soap. Do not use unapproved cleaning agents.
  6. Use only official Bambu Lab glue on Bambu Lab build plates. Damage caused by third-party adhesives is not covered under warranty. Do not use acetone on the Engineering Plate.
  7. Allow the plate to cool for a few minutes after printing before removing the model to protect the surface and extend its lifespan.
  8. The latest firmware fully supports automatic calibration of the Engineering Plate using Micro Lidar.
  9. The Engineering Plate is a consumable item. Warranty coverage applies only to manufacturing defects and does not include cosmetic wear.

Recommended Settings

Please note that other slicer settings might need to be adjusted based on the printed model and the filament requirements
