Bambu Lab Switching Adapter for AMS 2 Pro is required when powering additional AMS 2 Pro units, especially if you’re using multiple units at the same time to dry filament. Each AMS 2 Pro must have its own dedicated Switching Adapter to operate the drying function properly.
**When used with X1, P1, or A1 series printers, every AMS 2 Pro connected and utilizing the drying feature must be powered by an individual official Bambu Lab Switching Adapter.

For H2D Printers
- Single AMS 2 Pro Connection: The H2D printer can directly power and operate the drying function of one AMS 2 Pro. No additional adapter is needed.
- Multiple AMS 2 Pro Units: When using the drying feature on more than one unit, each AMS 2 Pro must be connected to its own Switching Adapter. Even if only one unit is actively drying, power limitations may affect performance. To maintain efficient drying, using a dedicated adapter for each unit is strongly recommended.
For X1 / P1 Series Printers
- Drying Function: Enabling the drying feature requires a Switching Adapter to supply sufficient power to each AMS 2 Pro.
- Multiple Units: Each AMS 2 Pro used with drying must be powered individually with its own adapter.
- Without Drying: If the drying feature is disabled, a Switching Adapter is not necessary.
Additional Information
AMS 2 Pro is fully compatible with X1 and P1 series printers for multi-material printing. The drying function on these models will be activated via an OTA firmware update, expected by the end of April.
