Overview
The Hardened Steel Extruder Gear Assembly is an internal component of the Extruder Unit. It comprises a driven gear and an active gear that work together to feed filament into the hotend.
Constructed from durable materials, the hardened steel extruder gear offers enhanced performance when printing with high-strength engineering filaments such as PAHT-CF and PET-CF, ensuring long-term reliability. In cases of wear or clogging from prolonged use, users only need to replace the extruder gear assembly instead of the entire extruder unit.
The P1 Series Extruder Unit includes a stainless steel extruder gear by default. For improved resistance to wear when using engineering filaments, users have the option to upgrade to a hardened steel gear.
